As part of the multifamily real estate industry, I think we can all agree we did not foresee a Yardi X Wework, even when Yardi had worked with WeWork previously. However, it is refreshing, even inspiring to see such creativity in investment in our industry, and I look forward to seeing more pioneering asimilations as our industry continues to evolve! Yardi's move is an interesting one. I'm curious to see how they are going to do things differently, as the original business approach didn't work out.

I would like to welcome a few experts to offer their perspectives on the news in the chatstream here. We will publish the summaries in a media article: @Jordan Viniar @Simon Tweddle @Ken Deering @Troy Davis @Lauren Christiansen

For one, I think Zillow is trying to get out in front of the industry in terms of thought leadership. There is significant movement on the AI front and many of the companies experimenting here don't have deep knowledge of the industry and, from what I've seen' certainly haven't taken into account fair housing or other regulatory constraints. So Zillow made a smart move here.

The timing is also interesting since so much is in flux right now. Not only is cooperative compensation in question (in the U.S.) but the DOJ is pushing back on any discussion of compensation. So that will need to be considered and learned in this LLM that will be ever-expanding.

And by open sourcing this, Zillow expects to get contributions back to help reinforce the tech/model and make it stronger. So they will benefit from that assuming others embrace it.

The World Economic Forum published guiding principles as industries integrated in AI. The document is called "Empowering AI Leadership: AI C-Suite Toolkit." In the article, it addresses Ethics in AI and ensuring non-discriminatory practices are followed in data sets and the extracted products of AI. This move by Zillow addresses concerns in the industry of adhering to Fair Housing. This risk mitigation move is exciting to see as AI progresses further into the marketplace, advancing and tweaking it's weaknesses.

But I do appreciate the effort, I've been struggling to get LLMs to conform to avoid certain topics related to "appraisal bias".

Hi @Casey Hingtgen, this is an emotionally anxious issue to deal about security deposit with the landlords directly. However, with professional organizations coming in and resolving it on behalf of the renter is a respite. But not aware of local regulations. What did you have in mind Casey? And whats Whale solving here?
