Automated Architecture, a London-based technology firm specializing in distributed micro-factory networks, has successfully secured £2.6M in Seed funding. The funding round, led by Miles Ahead and joined by Robotics & Discrete Automation and Robotics & Automation Ventures (ABB RA Ventures), Rival Holdings, and Morgan Stanley, marks a significant milestone for the company as it charts a path towards further growth and expansion.
Supporting Sustainable Housing Solutions
Founded in 2019 by Mollie Claypool, CEO, and Gilles Retsin, CTO, Automated Architecture aims to revolutionize the construction industry by establishing a network of distributed micro-factories dedicated to sustainable timber housing. By licensing its innovative robotic micro-factories and technology stack, Automated Architecture empowers local communities, contractors, architects, and developers to construct high-quality, energy-efficient homes at scale and affordable prices.
Fueling Growth and Innovation
With the recent funding injection, Automated Architecture plans to accelerate its partner license network by adding ten new partners and expanding its operations in the United States. The company’s mission to address the pressing need for affordable, low-energy homes aligns with its core values of sustainability and innovation.
Mollie Claypool, CEO of Automated Architecture, commented: “There is a huge and urgent need for affordable low-energy homes, but currently, these are expensive to build and difficult to deliver at scale. Building high-quality, sustainable timber homes is hard to scale, but AUAR is here to change that. Robots and AI allow us to deliver high-quality housing at significantly lower costs, increasing margins and productivity while lowering the cost for the end users. By using our solution, construction companies are incentivized to meet much-needed sustainability targets.”
