In a move towards fostering sustainability, Enercare Inc. (Enercare) has joined hands with Habitat for Humanity Canada to launch the Sustainable Homes Partnership. This strategic collaboration aims to pioneer environmental action within our homes and communities, positioning Enercare as a frontrunner in Canada’s green transition.
Enercare’s President and CEO, Nick Perreten, expresses the company’s commitment, stating, “We are on a sustainability journey to enable more equitable access to solutions that help lower emissions in the places people live, work, and play.” The partnership makes Enercare the primary sponsor of Habitat Canada’s Sustainability Grants program, committing to a three-year initiative supporting affordable and energy-efficient home construction.
This collaboration aligns with Enercare’s broader efforts to reduce emissions, exemplified by their support for Habitat for Humanity’s Quebec-based InnovHaus project, which achieved a remarkable 90% reduction in utility costs. The partnership aims to fund 17 sustainability grants and facilitate numerous new builds by 2026, incorporating Enercare’s expertise and dedication to sustainable living into the construction process.
Julia Deans, Habitat for Humanity Canada President and CEO, emphasizes the shared vision for a green, inclusive future. “Building sustainable futures is our shared vision. With Enercare’s support, we’re expanding the number of homes we build with an enhanced focus on sustainability and elevating the quality and longevity of each one.”
This collaboration transcends the mere construction of homes; it symbolizes a commitment to building a sustainable future, ensuring affordable housing for families for years to come.
