EnviCore, based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, has raised CAD$4.2 million in seed funding. The funding round was supported by CSN Inova Ventures, Heidelberg Materials, Techstars, Hillside Ventures, along with angel investors Mark and Faye McGregor. The newly raised capital is intended to enhance the company’s operations and increase the production capacity of its supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs). The SCM technology has been validated through partnerships with global cement and construction companies.
Under the leadership of CEO Shahrukh Shamim, EnviCore focuses on developing low-carbon technologies aimed at the cement and construction industries. The company creates SCMs using recycled and natural mineral materials, offering a scalable method to help reduce carbon emissions in cement production and contribute to global efforts in decarbonization.
