Epic Cleantec, a San Francisco-based company specializing in water reuse technologies, has raised $12 million in a Series B funding round. The investment was led by the family office of Drs. Kathy Fields and Garry Rayant.
The funding will support the company’s efforts to scale its water reuse and resource recovery systems across a diverse portfolio of projects.
Led by CEO Aaron Tartakovsky, Epic Cleantec focuses on integrating onsite water treatment and reuse systems into individual buildings, clusters of properties, and community-level developments. The company’s technology converts wastewater into resources such as treated water for non-potable uses, organic soil amendments, and heat energy.
Epic Cleantec traces its origins to research conducted for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s “Reinvent the Toilet Challenge.” Its solutions have been adopted by real estate projects across North America.
