Honey Homes, a subscription-based home upkeep and maintenance service, has raised $9.25 million in Series A-1 funding. This funding round was led by Era Ventures with participation from previous investors Khosla Ventures and Pear VC. The new funds will support Honey Homes’ expansion across California and Texas in 2024 and the introduction of new service offerings. To date, Honey Homes has raised over $21 million to serve more than 1,000 homeowners.
Founded in 2021, Honey Homes addresses the challenge homeowners face in finding reliable vendors for ongoing and immediate needs, transforming the $500 billion home services industry. In the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Dallas, members receive visits from a dedicated handyperson twice a month to handle various home tasks. The company’s mobile app enhances this service by allowing members to chat with the expert team, manage tasks, and schedule appointments. To date, Honey Homes has completed over 60,000 tasks through more than 30,000 visits, driven by the demand to replace the stress of homeownership with convenience.
CEO Vishwas Prabhakara stated, “Nearly three years in, we’ve shown the value of Honey Homes for those wanting to enjoy their homes rather than worry about a long list of to-dos. This funding will help us build a sustainable, long-term business and extend our hassle-free home upkeep to more homeowners.”
Honey Homes’ technological innovations, such as the Home Health feature, customize ongoing maintenance for home systems and appliances. This software prioritizes necessary maintenance on members’ to-do lists. Internally, AI-driven tools enhance the efficiency of handy people, ensuring timely arrivals and task support based on estimated completion times. These innovations set a new standard for home services for both homeowners and skilled trades workers.
Clelia Peters, Partner at Era Ventures, noted, “Honey Homes excels in their approach to pricing, team structure, and market expansion, promoting sustainable growth and profitability. The founding team’s strong early traction and positive customer reviews confirm their potential to seize this significant market opportunity. Honey Homes is well-positioned to become a leading consumer brand in the home services industry.”
