India Accelerator (IA), a fund-led accelerator and coworking space provider, has opened a new coworking facility in Pune, investing $500,000 to support the city’s growing startup community.
The facility is designed to provide an adaptable and collaborative workspace for entrepreneurs, small businesses, and established enterprises. Pune’s strong reputation as a startup hub has been bolstered by its proximity to Mumbai and a robust IT sector. Between 2014 and 2023, startups in Pune attracted $4.7 billion across 355 deals, making it the fifth-largest startup ecosystem in South Asia.
According to IA spokesperson Abhay Chawla, the expansion reflects the growing demand for modern workspaces. “Pune is emerging as a significant hub for startups. We aim to equip them with the resources needed to succeed in a competitive landscape,” Chawla said.
The Pune coworking space can host up to 500 individuals and features amenities such as high-speed internet, ergonomic furniture, soundproof pods, and breakout areas. It also includes advanced meeting rooms with audiovisual setups, designed to enhance productivity. The workspace’s sustainable design emphasizes natural light and offers customizable layouts to accommodate diverse business needs.
Beyond infrastructure, IA connects startups with over 1,800 mentors and partners with venture capital firms, including Finvolve, to provide mentorship, funding, and other key resources. The accelerator also organizes workshops, networking events, and speaker sessions to foster collaboration and innovation across sectors.
This move aligns with India Accelerator’s goal to contribute to Pune’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, further positioning the city as a hub for innovation and growth within India’s startup landscape.
