Mint House, a New York-based residential hospitality operator, has acquired Locale, an Austin-based company specializing in short-term rental accommodations. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition strengthens Mint House’s position in the residential hospitality sector, catering to both travelers and property owners seeking to enhance building profitability. As part of the agreement, all Locale employees will transition to Mint House.
Locale, founded by CEO Nitesh Gandhi, offers a portfolio of furnished apartments and aparthotels designed for travelers seeking space, privacy, and local experiences. The company integrates hotel-style amenities with home comforts, supported by a technology-driven guest experience.
Mint House, established in 2017, operates a hospitality platform that blends hotel services with apartment-style accommodations. Its properties, located across the U.S., offer mobile check-in, keyless entry, pre-stocked groceries, 24/7 digital concierge services, and smart home features.
Mint House continues its expansion, with new locations planned for 2025. The company recently announced its fourth Nashville property at Marathon Village and its first Washington, D.C., location, set to open in spring 2025. The integration of Locale further extends Mint House’s market reach, adding properties in Menlo Park, Madison, and Phoenix.
Following the acquisition, Locale’s properties will be rebranded under the Mint House name, bringing its total portfolio to 22 properties across 13 markets:
