Toronto-based legal service provider Ownright has announced the completion of a $4.5 million CAD seed funding round alongside its official rebrand from Doormat. The round was backed by Alate Partners and Relay Ventures, bringing the company’s total funding to $6.5 million CAD.
Ownright specializes in legal services tailored to real estate transactions, offering a streamlined experience for home buyers, sellers, and homeowners. The fresh capital will be used to support operational expansion and enhance product development as the company scales.
Founded by Robert Saunders, Joel Fox, and Benjamin Berry, Ownright aims to simplify complex property transactions through a combination of automation, legal expertise, and client-focused solutions.
Since its inception, Ownright has processed over $750 million CAD in transaction volume. The company expects to surpass the $1 billion CAD mark by the end of next year.
