Hamburg-based Plancraft has raised €12 million in a Series A funding round. Established in 2020, Plancraft offers a comprehensive software solution designed to digitalize various work processes within the craft industry, such as invoicing, pricing, construction site documentation, and time tracking. This software aims to streamline operations for craft businesses, helping them address challenges like labor shortages and increasing bureaucracy.
The craft industry is currently undergoing significant changes, facing issues such as demographic shifts, labor shortages, and rising bureaucratic demands. Plancraft’s digital solutions are tailored to help businesses navigate these challenges by optimizing and automating processes. The software makes crucial business data more accessible and saves time through automated workflows, allowing businesses to concentrate on their core activities. Plancraft employs over 40 people and serves more than 10,000 customers. The software has processed nearly €1 billion in construction volume, underscoring its significant impact on the industry.
The Series A funding round was led by Creandum, with participation from existing investors including Bitstone Capital and High-Tech Gründerfonds. Julian Wiedenhaus, CEO and founder of Plancraft, highlighted the industry’s current struggles with labor shortages and bureaucratic demands, emphasizing the need for digital solutions to enhance efficiency.
Staffan Helgesson, General Partner at Creandum, noted the widespread impact of the craft industry, underscoring the importance of easing operational burdens for businesses. He praised Plancraft for its well-designed product and dynamic team, positioning it to drive digitalization across Europe.
With the new funding, Plancraft aims to develop the first European contractor operating system and expand its reach beyond the DACH region. This capital will support product expansion and create further opportunities for digitalization in the craft industry.
