SCALE, a prominent organizer of events tailored for short-term rental property managers, has revealed plans for the inaugural edition of SCALE Green. Set to occur on April 23, 2024, in London, this event precedes the prestigious Shortyz Awards later that evening.
SCALE Green marks a pioneering initiative as the world’s first conference solely dedicated to spotlighting and bolstering sustainability endeavors within the short-term rental sector.
In collaboration with four leading sustainability experts in the holiday let industry, including Bob Garner, CEO of EnviroRental, Vanessa De Souza Lage, CEO of Sustonica, Marc Ribail, founder and CEO of QALIA, and Nikki Mattei, a distinguished sustainability specialist, SCALE Green has garnered sponsorship from industry giants such as Sykes Holiday Cottages, Avantio, and Smily.
Anticipating an attendance of up to 100 property managers, the half-day event promises an immersive experience with nine educational sessions aimed at illustrating practical steps that professional managers, owners, and hosts can readily implement to construct a robust ‘Climate Action Plan’.
Joining the lineup of esteemed speakers are notable figures including Graham Donoghue, CEO of Sykes Cottages, Rachel Parsons, sustainability and leadership coach at The What If Department, Ufi Ibrahim, CEO at Energy & Environmental Alliance, and Katy Davies, head of ESG at Host and Stay.
Commenting on the significance of SCALE Green, Damian Sheridan, founder and director at SCALE, expressed the aim to establish sustainability as a cornerstone of the short-term rental sector. He emphasized the importance of dedicating a day solely to fostering actionable green initiatives, marking a pivotal step in SCALE’s journey to become a leading resource for the STR and holiday let industry.
Bob Garner, founder of EnviroRental, echoed this sentiment, underlining the growing momentum behind sustainability in the short-term rental sector and the imperative to capitalize on this progress. He articulated the mission of SCALE Green as educating property managers and, by extension, the broader travel sector, about the myriad opportunities and business advantages inherent in embracing sustainability.
