TwinKnowledge, a company developing AI-powered insights for the architecture, engineering, construction, and operations (AECO) sector, has raised $3.7 million in seed funding. The round was led by Camber Creek, with additional participation from Great Wave Ventures.
The investment will support product development and expansion into new markets, positioning the company to scale its AI capabilities across the built environment. As part of the funding deal, Jim Lynch, former SVP and GM of Autodesk Construction, has joined the board as an independent director.
Founded by Dr. Ivan Panushev, TwinKnowledge builds AI systems that interpret data from construction documents, technical specifications, and project materials. Its platform is designed to help project teams identify conflicts, validate compliance, and make informed decisions earlier in the construction lifecycle.
Dr. Panushev, who previously led the engineering, construction, and real estate technology segment at Amazon Web Services, also co-founded Horizontal Systems, a company later acquired by Autodesk to develop BIM 360.
Clients using TwinKnowledge’s platform include organizations such as the United States Space Force, Toll Brothers, SHoP Architects, and Sound Transit.
In industries where large volumes of structured and unstructured data are common, extracting timely insights is often a manual and error-prone process. This can lead to delays, budget overruns, and compliance issues. TwinKnowledge addresses these challenges by using AI agents to automatically scan and cross-verify data points across submittals, design documents, and construction contracts. By flagging inconsistencies before construction begins, the platform helps minimize rework and operational friction.
The company aims to broaden its adoption in the coming year, as demand for automation in construction workflows continues to grow.
“We are integrating AI agents into AECO workflows, using computer vision and large language models to simplify how teams handle construction documents. This improves accuracy and accelerates delivery,”
– Dr. Ivan Panushev, Founder and CEO, TwinKnowledge
“As AI continues to gain momentum, the built environment is ripe for innovation. TwinKnowledge’s approach offers practical solutions to long-standing inefficiencies,”
– Jean-Paul Bowgen, Principal, Camber Creek
